For the past five years I have had major stomach discomfort that has caused so much disruption in my day-to-day life. I went to many doctors and tried many different remedies, but nothing I tried was a permanent solution. A relative got wind of my growing stomach discomfort and suggested a vegan diet. The idea of veganism to me, someone who grew up on animal products, seemed near impossible, but I was desperate for a cure to my sick stomach. I jumped on board and asked for advice on how to get protein and all other vital nutrients on a vegan diet. To my surprise, it was so easy to find variety in protein sources and meals as a vegan. The best part, it only took the vegan diet three days to get my body feeling the way it should at a healthy 21 years old! My stomach no longer had any of its usual discomfort or disruption. I was feeling sick to my stomach almost five days a week and since beginning the vegan diet, I have not had one moment of a sick stomach! Being a vegan has allowed my body to heal and thank me for the natural nutrients I am feeding it and my energy levels are unreal. I feel the best I have ever felt in my life!
My goal in sharing my story, blog, and experiences with the world is to inspire and educate on the wonderful things a vegan diet can do for your body and the environment. This is the way we were meant to eat! My advice to you is to give it a try, but ease into it because it will be a big change from what most of us have been feeding our bodies our whole lives. Do your research, look for other stories of people at all ages bettering their health through the vegan diet. What I have found has been nothing short of inspiring. Good luck and happy eating!
